Navigating the Global Waters, Conference
Denver. CO
February 12-15, 2014

I am a PhD in American Indian Studies creating mining education curriculum for tribal colleges in Arizona.  I have had amazing opportunities to present my modules in front of Native stakeholders in Washington D.C., to Native students at Tohono O’odham Community College and faculty in multiple academic settings however, my exposure to the mining sector has been limited.  This conference provided a unique and valuable opportunity to present my research and modules to the mining industry.  I gained feedback and priceless insight to broaden my perspective and re-enter my research with a more rounded view on mining and impacts.
