Andrew C. Comrie Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Doctoral Fellowship Nomination Form

About the Award

The Andrew C. Comrie Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $30,000 plus full base tuition and student health insurance to one international or domestic GIDP doctoral track student. The Andrew C. Comrie Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Doctoral Fellowship targets doctoral track students enrolled in one of the Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Ph.D. majors who have substantially completed their dissertation (no more than 75%).  GIDP Chairs may nominate one student from their program.  Students may not directly apply.

Eligibility & Restrictions 

Students must:

  • be enrolled in a doctoral track GIDP
  • hold a 3.9 GPA minimum
  • have substantially completed their dissertation (no more than 75%)
  • advanced to candidacy and filed the plan of study

Award Conditions

  • awardee must be willing to devote fulltime effort toward the dissertation completion for fall and spring award semesters and will be required to participate in no less than 3 professional development workshops offered through the Graduate Center during the award tenure. 
  • awardee may not hold a GA appointment or other university funding for the duration of the award. 

To complete this nomination form you will be prompted to upload the following documents (pdf format):

  • A letter of nomination from you, as the GIDP Chair. The letter should address how the nominee is performing cutting edge interdisciplinary research; why the student is selected as a priority for this award.
  • An abstract prepared by the student covering their dissertation research (1 page); please make sure the student’s full name and GIDP is on the document.
  • A personal and professional goals statement prepared by the student  (1-2 pages); please make sure the student’s full name and GIDP is on the document.

NOTE: all documents are required for nominee to be considered for the award;  you may nominate one student per academic year.
