The Second Language Acquisition & Teaching Program offers study leading to a Ph.D. degree. The cooperating departments include Anthropology, Classics, East Asian Studies, English, French and Italian, German, Language, Reading and Culture, Linguistics, Near Eastern Studies, Psychology, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese, Special Education, Rehabilitation and School Psychology, and Speech and Hearing Sciences. Students may choose from specializations in (a) second language analysis, (b) second language use, (c) second language processing and learning, or (d) second language pedagogical theory and program administration. Most students entering this Program will hold an M.A. or its equivalent.
